CORNERSTONE TEAM

Vito Tamborrino, Jr., AIA
Architect and Construction Services Director

Vito Tamborrino, Jr., AIA serves as Architect and Construction Services Director at Cornerstone Architectural Group, where he has worked since 1995 and brings experience in the industry dating back to 1980. His career path includes approximately five years with a Design/Build Construction Company, which provided unique insight into both sides of the design and construction process. This dual perspective allows him to approach projects not only from the architect's viewpoint but also from the contractor's, bringing valuable understanding to every phase of a project.

Vito enjoys working on all types of projects that present challenges, finding satisfaction in thinking through the process to achieve great design and successful construction. He provides great value to the firm and its clients as the company's estimator, specification writer, quality control officer, bidding facilitator, and construction administrator/manager. As a Field Representative, he particularly enjoys solving the challenges that arise during construction, helping to ensure that resolutions meet the design intent, client expectations, and contractor needs simultaneously.

His path to architecture was guided by two uncles who were engineering draftsmen and recognized his ability to solve problems through drawings. They encouraged him to pursue architecture as a career, a recommendation he's thankful for, as problem-solving continues to drive his passion for the profession.

Among his notable projects are Robertet Fragrances in Mt. Olive, New Jersey. The 14-month, fast-track, complete building renovation encompassed corporate offices, labs, production, and warehouse space. Cornerstone provided design services and full construction management, coordinating approximately 30 different contractors and vendors along with multiple engineering and structural consultants under an extremely tight deadline. Vito also led the SHI Conferencing Center project, another fast-track renovation inside their corporate office building where Cornerstone provided design services and full construction management.

Beyond his professional work, Vito has been making wine since age 14, learning alongside his grandfather and father. He has been producing wine under his own label, winning several international medals, and plans to continue his wine-making pursuits. He's also an avid bicyclist with a bucket list goal of completing the 333-mile GAP/C&O trail from Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C. upon retirement. Though no longer playing soccer himself, Vito has been involved with the sport since age 15. He played high school, college, and semi-professional levels, ultimately coaching youth teams and serving as Vice President of the LV Magic Soccer Club travel team. He also held a FIFA Referee's license.
